Geelong West Town Hall Back Stage Area

Paperarc have worked with the City of Greater Geelong on two upgrade projects at the much-loved Geelong West Town Hall, a beautiful heritage-listed building that’s been part of the local community for a century.

Our first project focused on reactivating the disused backstage facilities. We took care to protect the building’s original features, including the timber dado and heritage detailing, while making the spaces more comfortable and functional for performers and speakers.

In a separate project, we upgraded the male and female public amenities off the main hall. Although these areas weren’t part of the heritage zones, we wanted the new design to feel right at home in the historic building while also being modern, fresh, and in keeping with its character.

Both projects were about making small but meaningful improvements that support the ongoing use of this much-used community venue, while respecting its history and charm.
